About Public Mood

Public Mood is a done-for-you online sentiment analysis service built for newsrooms, editors and journalists worldwide. Comms teams, agencies and brands use it too.

Our first analysis looked at online sentiment about Michael Carrick as Manchester United manager in 2026, and built Public Mood around what editors asked for: a finished analysis with a clear verdict, honest about what online data can and cannot show. You can read the Carrick sample analysis and see how an analysis is made, step by step.

Who's behind Public Mood

Public Mood is run by Kasper Skov Jensen, a trained journalist with 15 years in digital media. He holds a BA in digital journalism from the Danish School of Media and Journalism, where he also serves as an external examiner.

Kasper has worked on the inside of newsrooms and media businesses: at TV2.dk, as an editor at Microsoft, at Aller Media's SE og HØR, where he helped grow the Facebook audience from 17,000 to 58,000 in eight months, as Head of Content at Heylink, and as Affiliate Content Manager at Berlingske Media. Today he runs the consultancy Konsulentbixen.

He started Public Mood because editors kept asking the same question: what are people actually saying about this story online? And they needed an answer they could trust and use within days, not weeks, not another dashboard to learn.
